Nicolas Ventura at Lerici Music Festival

Nicolas Ventura was invited to perform at the Lerici Music Festival, founded and directed by Gianluca Marcianò, in the evocative setting of Villa Marigola overlooking the Gulf of Poets.

The programme centred on the music of Franz Schubert, bringing together the intimacy of his Lieder with the exuberance of the celebrated Trout Quintet. Ventura performed the songs alongside mezzo-soprano Ustynia Malinina and soprano Meera Varghese, before joining violinist Gabriele Pieranunzi, violist Francesco Fiore, cellist Pierluigi Sanarica and double bassist Sofia Bianchi for the quintet.

The concert formed part of Marcianò’s distinctive vision for the festival, which brings together leading performers in dialogue with the exceptional landscapes and cultural heritage of Lerici and the Gulf of Poets.

For Ventura, the evening marked another opportunity to explore Schubert’s chamber music in an intimate setting, surrounded by some of Italy’s most evocative scenery.
