ABOUT ME

Praised for his “limitless palette of colours” and “technical mastery and authority”, the Italian pianist Nicolas Ventura is making his name as one of the most interesting pianists of his generation.

His performances have taken him to some of the most renowned venues including Cadogan Hall and Wigmore Hall in London, Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, the Jacqueline Du Pré Music Building in Oxford, Palau de la Musica Catalana in Barcelona, Fazioli Concert Hall and Teatro la Fenice in Venice, Teatro Manzoni in Pistoia, Sölitar at Mozarteum in Salzburg, Florianka Concert Hall in Kraków, among many others.

A Delphian Records artist, Nicolas will release his debut album Origins, featuring music by Prokofiev and Bloch, in February 2027. In 2023 he was awarded the Oleg Prokofiev Award by the Oleg Prokofiev Trust for his work on the composer's music. He recently made his London concerto debut performing Prokofiev's Third Piano Concerto with the Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra under James Blair, described as "monumental" (Christopher Axworthy, The Keyboard Charitable Trust).

Prize-winner of the Concours Île-de-France, Nicolas has appeared at festivals including the Patmos Music Festival, Giortes Rokka, Bartolomeo Cristofori Piano Festival, Oxford Piano Festival, and Mid-day Manchester Concert Society, among many others. He has shared the stage with artists including Michael Guttman and members of the New York Philharmonic, and has collaborated with orchestras including the Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra Sinfonica di Chioggia, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Bacau, and the Danube Symphony Orchestra.

Nicolas is an active transcriber with piano arrangements of works by Prokofiev and Copland, and has worked as a conductor directing various ensembles and orchestras.

He holds the Diploma of the Royal Academy of Music for an outstanding performance in his final recital. An alumnus of both the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal College of Music in London, Nicolas studied with Konstantin Bogino, Tatiana Sarkissova, and Dina Parakhina. He currently specialises with Roberto Prosseda and William Grant Naboré at the Lake Como Piano Academy.

He is featured in Making Music's Recommended Artist Guide, and is grateful to the Oleg Prokofiev Trust for their support.
